Face to Face Tour

By lamrou - December 05, 2016

There is nothing more fabulous then when you get to see your two favourite bands play together AND when they add a FREE meet & greet before the show you basically just hit the jackpot. It was great to get to go see a show after almost 4 months of no concerts & crying at all the ones I couldn't make it out too, Emarosa (it still hurts my soul because Bradley know how to put on a great show & those Instagram videos are what I expect all concerts to be like).
I was beyond stoked to see Hands Like Houses for a 6th time & Our Last Night for the 3rd time. The last time I saw HLH was in May & OLN was last November which has been a while. Their closest show was in Syracuse so that's the mission I made instead of going to Toronto the day after Syracuse; that would have been 2 hours more of driving & we probably would have struggled to come back home that same night.
I brought my friends with me & we were all going to get their early, hang out in the city, get some Cheesecake Factory & get to the venue with a great parking spot and not too far back in the line. Sounds like a great day right, wrong. The day went NOTHING like that. Instead I spent 5 hours trying to get a rental because the place I usually get my rental from was being making the day that much harder for me. Thank god for my friend & The National we were able to get a car with just enough time to speed down to Syracuse it was a 3 hour drive & I'm pretty sure I did it in 2.5hrs there was NO way I was missing this show. Once we got there we found a washroom to get changed, apply some makeup & then we were ready to rock out.
I was the smart soul who left my phone & debit card in the car & then went into the venue to find out there was no re-entry *face palm*. Thank Woody's soul though he escorted me outside to get my stuff right before meet & greet was over & I was able to get me some sweet merch stuff from OLN & HLH.
When I went out to get my stuff, the security guard was asking Woody if I was with the band & he was like yeah she is and I was feeling good; prime moments in my life. When we walked in, OLN & HLH guys recognized us from previous shows & were giving us hugs & having conversations with us; we had to walk away so other people could say hi to them. It was a good feeling to be recognized by people whose music I jam to on a weekly basis (I'm pretty sure they know me as that wild girl in the front of their shows loosing her mind to their music but I don't even mind because thats exactly what is going down).
I honestly know how I was able to talk the next day because I gave it my all for both bands screaming the words at the top of my lungs. Alex from HLH was telling me I went a little more crazy than I usually do but I'm sure Matt from OLN was loving I cause he was jamming with me.
HLH played basically all of Dissonants & I was like the only one screaming every time they announced what song they were going to play; can you say a little too excited? The song I was so into with my hand motions & what not was Motion Sickness. Joel was my favourite with his dance moves he does at every show #fave. For videos of my crazy time check out my Instagram I posted one of me going nuts & another one of Trevor from OLN standing in the crowd.
OLN played a bunch of songs from different albums but they were all the ones I know pretty well so best believe I went in hard as I could go with whatever voice I had left. We also got to do the Mannequin Challenge to A World Divided & as soon as the song started we unfroze & jumped right into the song.
All in all it was an amazing show The Color Morale also put on a great show for the first time seeing them, I wish I knew more songs but it was fun jamming along.

till next time

xoxo
